Yogi Adityanath government takes this step to check crime against women in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: After taking sturdy motion towards gangsters in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath authorities has directed authorities to verify crime towards ladies with an iron hand. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has requested the officers to place up posters carrying footage of individuals accused of sexual harassment and different crimes towards ladies at distinguished street crossings within the state. 

The instructions have been issued to instill confidence amongst ladies and verify crime towards them, an official spokesperson mentioned on Thursday. The spokesman is quoted by PTI as saying, “The CM at a high-level meeting here on Thursday directed to put up posters of those involved in crimes against women at prominent crossings. He has also directed that those involved in such crimes should be punished by women police.” 

In case of any crime towards a girl, cops of the realm such because the SHO and Circle Officer might be made accountable, he mentioned, including that the “anti-Romeo squads” constituted in all districts of the state to instill a way of safety amongst ladies have been made extra lively.

The anti-Romeo squad, lively in each district of the state, was constituted to manage incidents of molestation and verify their harassment.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi careworn on constructing a greater picture of police so that ladies might belief them, mentioned the official assertion, including that Awasthi reviewed efforts made by police for girls safety in Allahabad, Agra, Bareilly, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur. 

Since the structure of the ‘anti-Romeo squads’, greater than 83 lakh individuals have been ‘checked at over 35 lakh locations’, together with faculties, schools, markets, malls, and parks, the assertion mentioned. It added that FIRs have been lodged towards 7,351 individuals whereas 11,564 arrested.

Awasthi reportedly instructed officers involved that any untoward incident towards ladies and ladies needs to be stopped and strict motion needs to be taken towards the culprits. 

Earlier, the Yogi authorities had put up posters of anti-CAA protesters, allegedly concerned in damaging public property, at distinguished street crossings in Lucknow.
