FSSAI mulling making fortification of edible oil with vitamins A, D mandatory

Food regulator FSSAI is contemplating making it necessary for edible oil producers to fortify cooking oil with nutritional vitamins A and D, which assist in boosting immunity.

He was addressing a nationwide webinar on edible oil fortification, organised by the Food Fortification Resource Centre (FFRC) underneath the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in affiliation with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), an announcement stated on Saturday.
