New Delhi: In a crackdown on e-commerce corporations, the federal government on Friday issued notices to e-commerce majors Flipkart and Amazon for not mandatorily displaying data, together with nation of origin, about merchandise bought on their platforms.

The notices have been issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. While notices have been issued to Amazon and Flipkart, the division has requested the states to make sure compliance of guidelines by all e-commerce corporations.
