Five NIA officers get ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for 2020
New Delhi: Five NIA officers have been awarded the distinguished ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for 2020.
Among the NIA officers who’ve been awarded the medal is Vikram Mukundrao Khalate, IPS, SP, NIA, Mumbai Branch, who investigated the first-ever case registered underneath the Anti-Hijacking Act 2016 in India and secured the conviction of the accused. The accused has been sentenced life imprisonment with Rs 5 crores of effective.
Another recipient is Dhan Ram Singh, Additional SP, NIA, Guwahati for probing the case of an ambush on the Road Opening Party of 4th Assam Rifle in Distt-Chandel, Manipur. Three accused individuals of PLA have been arrested within the mentioned assault.
The officer additionally investigated the case of Hojai (Assam) module of Hizbul Mujahideen. The investigation of the case stretched from Assam to J&Ok and it took a meticulous tracing of outdated information of mobiles utilized by the accused to attach all dots pertaining to journey, harbourers, handlers, financiers and so forth.
