Curfew ordered in Srinagar on August 4 and 5 on first anniversary of abrogation of Article 370

The Srinagar administration on Monday (August 3) ordered a curfew for August four and 5, the primary anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, which granted particular standing to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The report has additional made a case that to stop such violence and lack of life and property, it is imminent to impose curfew within the district. Therefore, after having thought-about the fabric details in report and inspecting the scenario in backdrop of prevailing elements, I, District Magistrate, Srinagar, by advantage of powers vested in me u/s 144 Cr PC hereby order full restrictions on public motion / curfew in territorial jurisdiction of District Srinagar,” famous the order.

However medical emergencies and motion of employees on COVID-19 responsibility with move/Valid Cards shall be exempted from above restrictions. 

“Additional Deputy Commissioner (Adm), Srinagar shall deploy one Magistrate each to coordinate implementation in each Police Stations jurisdictions. These restrictions shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force on 4th and 5th August 2020. Meanwhile, the restrictions previously ordered vide this office order dated 31st July 2020 on account of Covid-19 shall continue thereafter till 8th August unless revised earlier,” concluded the order.
