Punjab orders night curfew from December 1; doubles fine for violating COVID-19 safety rules
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday (November 25, 2020) introduced {that a} evening curfew shall be imposed within the state from December 1 to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The Chief Minister’s workplace issued a press release that mentioned that the evening curfew will stay in power from 10 PM to five AM, amid apprehension of a second wave of coronavirus within the state.
“Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered evening curfew in all cities and cities from 10 pm to five am and doubled positive for flouting COVID-19 applicable behaviour to Rs 1000, with impact from December 1,’’ the order mentioned.
Announcing a collection of recent restrictions, the CM additionally ordered doubling of positive for not sporting masks or following social distancing norms from December 1.

The curbs, which shall be reviewed on December 15, additionally limit operation timings for all resorts, eating places and marriage palaces until 9.30 PM.
“All hotels, restaurants and wedding venues to close at 9.30 PM, starting December 1. Curbs to be reviewed on December 15,” the order acknowledged.
